Idaho Falls Pediatrics: Care in a Castle

When it comes to our bodies, health is king...so it makes sense to receive health care in a castle. In February 2020, Idaho Falls Pediatrics opened a new facility in Ammon, Idaho. However, this isn’t your typical doctor’s office. Designed with tall, pointed windows, a stone facade, and a wrought iron gate, the architecture of this new building reflects that of a medieval castle.

The new facility is on Eagle Road and Sunnyside, located just behind Kohl’s Department Store in Ammon. Other nearby shops include a Dutch Bros Coffee shop, Chick-Fil-A, and Bank of Commerce. Idaho Falls Pediatrics is a wonderful asset to the Ammon and Idaho Falls community and allows them to better serve the area.

As the new pediatric building was in construction, the company received many inquiries about their new design⁠—specifically, “Why a castle?” The answer was simple. Healthcare is important, but visiting the doctor is often seen as scary to children. So, they hoped to create a facility where kids would want to visit.

A Magical Place to Visit

The grandeur of the Idaho Falls Pediatric palace doesn’t stop at it’s wide, iron gate. Every wall inside is adorned with incredible, intricate murals of all sorts of different scenes. During an appointment, your child may see Ariel, Peter Pan, Harry Potter, the Pevensie family from the Chronicles of Narnia, the knights of the round table, Mario, and many more! There is even a room dedicated to Idaho... which might just be our favorite!

Every room in the castle will bring a new surprise. These murals create a place of wonder for your children to appreciate. Plus, it distracts them from the typical fear they might experience from visiting the doctor.

The Kings and Queens Within

The exterior and interior decorating of the new building reflect the intense attention to detail and superb care that the doctors and nurses display. The dedicated workers, the kings and queens, who inhabit the castle have one objective, to oversee the health and wellness of your child...while still having fun.

The doctors and nurses at Idaho Falls Pediatrics help you manage the physical, behavioral, and mental health of your child. They provide physical exams, perform vaccinations, measure how they meet their growth and development milestones, diagnose and treat illnesses, and answer all the questions you have about your child’s health.

Germ-Free Play Zone

Doctors’ offices are held to the expectation of cleanliness. At the Ammon office, they wanted to avoid having toys in the waiting area so that kids wouldn’t all touch the same items and share germs. To fight the spread of germs, the Ammon location has a hands-free entertainment area for children waiting for their appointment. Instead of reading books or playing with toys, there is a room where children can run and play games projected from the ceiling. This helps them stay active and entertained while they wait, but decreases the spread of germs. The entire office, not only the waiting room, is an example of quality cleaning and tidiness.
